Remote Services & Access: eBooks

• Search the Shaw University Libraries catalog.
  • Shaw Libraries has access to hundreds of thousands of ebooks, which will appear in your search results.
    • To access one of these ebooks, simply click the button.
    • To include or exclude ebooks from your search, use the Format filter on the left side of your search results list, and either check or uncheck the ebooks box:

When accessing online library resources such as databases, articles and eBooks, you must be logged in with your Shaw credentials. Certain resources are only available to current student, staff, and faculty members. Once you open the resource, you may be prompted to login, on a Proxy page (click to access the NCLive Proxy Login):

• For Students:
  • Use your student ID# for the username, and the associated PIN as the password. (These are the same credentials you use to get to Bearsnet, the same password you use for your @bears.shawu.edu email.)
• For Faculty and Staff:
  • Use the prefix only of your shawu.edu email address as the 'Username' (e.g. 'yourname' in yourname@shawu.edu)

If you are already logged in to the Shaw SSO, your Bears Gmail, or your Moodle in your browser, you may not be prompted to login because you have already authenticated your credentials. If you are receiving an error, try opening a new tab in your browser, logging in to your Bears Gmail (students) or Outlook (staff) and then returning to the online resource in your original browser tab and clicking refresh.
