What The Library Offers

Information Literacy: TopHat and Guided Instruction

Our Library Instruction will provide you with a variety of tips, tools, and resources to guide you as you navigate the research and writing process - whether you are new to information evaluation or an experienced researcher, we are sure that you will benefit from following this instruction course!

Our course includes several different modules, including:

  • A Pre-Test and Post-Test for the overall course
  • Getting Started with your Research
  • Sources of Information
  • How to Search for Information
  • Evaluating Information
  • Presenting Research and Data
  • Citations and Academic Integrity

What to Expect

In each module you will find a series of training documents which include a variety of ways to get information - video resources, images and graphics, and text.

In many module training documents you will also find quiz or knowledge check questions which MUST be answered in order to receive credit for completion of that module.

Some modules will include videos to observe, or reference links to useful resources. If you are linked to a resource, please view the page or item - in many cases, the resource we refer you to will house the bulk of the information you will need to continue!

Throughout the process, you will also be able to access live assistance from a Staff Member when available. Please contact us, or visit our chat at shawu.libguides.com for assistance or more information.
